Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but California's Supreme court allowed gay marriage too. Won't this end up the same way? My impression was Iowa was more conservative than than California. What is to stop the same thing from happening?

Great!

I knew that either you or your husband will have the information. I haven't been able to load the site either.

Yay!! What a great way to start the morning! This is big for us. And for you and your hubby! Those who understand the issue realize we need to be equal in the eyes of the law and there is no good reason for that not to happen besides peoples biases!

An article I read said for a constitutional amendment (no doubt already in the works) it takes two consequtive state legislatures to approve it before we goes to the people. That means 2012 by the time the citizens of Iowa actually get to vote on it and by then people will have been married for 3 years and there will be many more states approving of gay marriage.

Had California actually had some sense when it allowed people to ammend our constitution by mere majority and had a process like Iowa, we would still have gay marriage.

Heres to hoping our justices rule in favor of equality too!
